Our Story
Lunthira makes fine jewellery for people who care about how it was made as much as how it looks. We work exclusively with laboratory-grown diamonds — diamonds with the same optical, chemical and physical properties as mined diamonds, grown above ground in a controlled laboratory rather than extracted from the earth.
We are a small, independent studio. Everything we sell is designed in-house and made in limited runs, so what you receive has been checked by a human rather than a conveyor belt.
Why laboratory-grown diamonds
- Identical material, different origin. A laboratory-grown diamond is a diamond — not a simulant such as cubic zirconia or moissanite. It is graded on exactly the same scale (cut, colour, clarity, carat).
- Certified independently. Stones from 0.30ct are graded by IGI or GIA, and the report ships with your piece.
- Gentler on land and water than mined stones, with a fraction of the resource footprint.
Every diamond we sell is laboratory-grown and is disclosed as such. We never describe a laboratory-grown diamond as a mined, natural or earth-mined diamond.
Craft
Our settings are cast in 14K or 18K recycled gold, or platinum, and set by hand. Stone weights are stated as averages for the collection; because every diamond is unique, the stone in your piece may vary very slightly within the published range.
